Jacob Michael Hillman, 33, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 25, 2022, at his home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Jacob was born August 8, 1989, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Michael Lance Hillman and Lisa Blanchard Hillman. He grew up and attended schools in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School. He also went to Eastern Idaho Technical College as a Journeyman Electrician which later excelled to traveling all across the country pursuing welding, fabricating, and being a master of his craft.
Jacob served in the Idaho National Guard and also served a year tour in Iraq. While in Iraq, he assisted the Special Forces with security. After an injury in Iraq, he returned to the National Guard. The friends he made during his service were more than friends, they were battle buddies.
Jacob married Lisa Ward, with the short time he spent with Lisa, he was later widowed, which then he moved to Louisiana for a new start not knowing that would change his career and lifestyle forever. Shortly after he completed the theater in downtown Louisiana, he moved back to Idaho where he found a fabrication opportunity in Jackson, Wyoming, and where he met Paige. Jacob lived in Idaho Falls and worked for Intermountain Erectors.
Jacob's passions started with art and skateboarding. Jacob drew abstract, yet beautiful art. He got into skateboarding where he earned the nickname "Twigs." He continued his passion for art which lead to tattooing. He then later aimed his artistic abilities to welding and fabricating. In his off time, he was an amazing billiard’s player, fire throwing Poi master, and a true gamer at heart.
Jacob is survived by his father, Michael Lance Hillman of Shelley, ID; son, Isiah Michael Hillman of Oklahoma; brother, Taylor Ryan (Chelse) Hillman of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Brandon Gene Hillman of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Sierra Katelynn (Dennis) Gifford of Idaho Falls; sister, Cailey Jo Hillman of Idaho Falls, ID; and grandmother, Linda Hillman of Shelley, ID.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Hillman; step-mother, Dionne Pickett; and wife, Lisa Hillman.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:50 a.m. prior to services. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
