Jackie (Kimball) Catmull

Jacqueline “Jackie” Catmull, 93, of Ammon, passed away February 14, 2021, at her home, where she had lived independently until her death.

Jackie was born January 31, 1928, in Boise, Idaho, to Vernon Alma Kimball and Ruby Griffiths Kimball. She grew up and attended schools in Kansas City as well Salt Lake City, Utah.

On January 9, 1947, she married Dorsal Jay “Doc” Catmull in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple. Jackie and Doc made their home in Granger Utah, Pocatello, Idaho and Idaho Falls until finally retired in Ammon, Idaho.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Primary, Relief Society President, Nursery worker, cub scout leader, temple worker and as a volunteer in the Native American Placement Program. She was a foster mother to many babies who were waiting to be adopted. She also served a mission with her husband in Washington DC where they loved and assisted immigrants from Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.,  Her family benefitted from her many talents including cooking, sewing and her creativity in so many ways. She was always serving others.

Jackie is survived by her children, Marsha (George) Redd, Dale (Barbara) Catmull, Cindy (Briant) DiChellis and Jay (Diane) Catmull; her brother, Vern Kimball; and sisters, Ruby Francis and Wilma Clayton; as well as 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2021, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. Services will be broadcast live at www.woodfuneralhome.com. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
