JACK PRUITT IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Jack Jean Pruitt, 83, of Idaho Falls, died December 30, 2007, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center from complications of injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born August 20, 1924, in Scobey, Montana, to David Sulier and Dorothy Jeanne Merrill Sulier. He was raised by his grandparents, John and Elizabeth Merrill at Medicine Lake, Montana. He took the name Pruitt from his stepfather, Irving Ernest Pruitt. He attended grade school and graduated from high school in Medicine Lake, Montana. He married Nola Mae Evans June 4, 1949, in Rexburg, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked on an air force base in Colorado, for various service stations, for Idaho Falls Potato Growers, as a painter for the City of Idaho Falls, owned a radiator repair shop and ran the wrecker at Saturday Night Stock Car Races. He was a lifetime member of the Eastern Idaho Stock Car Association and the Coin Club. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions. He enjoyed stock car racing and old cars. He was non-judgmental and would help anyone in need. Survivors include: Wife: Nola Mae Pruitt, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Susan (Sid) Helm, Taylorville, UT Daughter: Martha Williams, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Jack Jean (Jann) Pruitt, Jr., Rigby, ID Son: Joe (Shannon) Pruitt, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Scott Evans (Lori) Pruitt, Bloomington, IN Daughter: Julie (Craig) Miller, Ririe, ID Sister: Marie Schwede, Plano, TX 26 Grandchildren & 44 Great Grandchildren Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008, at the LDS Church, 1200 Dunbar Drive, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge in Idaho Falls, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. I haven't seen much of him in the past few years but I will miss him greatly, he was a great person to have known. I first met him through my father Warren "Stu" Stuart who knew him because of his radiator shop. Then I was his secretary/treasurer with the Eastern Idaho Stock Car Club for a couple of years when I was able to go to the races. Then I also had dealings with him through my position with Pacific Recycling when he would sell us his radiators. So, I have know Jack for a number of years and reasons. We both loved old cars and when I had my wrecking yard in IF, I dont think cash ever did change hands betwen us. Jack was a friend that if you were his friend, you knew it. He would go out of his way to say 'hi.' He was one of the true good ole boys.
