JACK P. CARTER IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Jack Phillip Carter, 74, of West Yellowstone, Montana, died June 26, 2003, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born January 13, 1929 at Kiowa, Kansas to Phillip Martin Carter and Louise Elizabeth Sloan Carter. He attended Excelsior High School in Downey, California. Following graduation, he attended two years of college at Glendale Junior College and received his degree from San Francisco State. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He held various executive positions in the baking industry with Continental Baking Company. He served on West Yellowstone’s Chamber of Commerce and helped organize North Shore Rural Fire Department. He worked as Marketing Director at Carter Western Art as well as President of Gary Carter Western Art Print Company for 20 years. He belonged to the NSRA. He married Betty Carter who passed away in 1990. On January 10, 1992, he married Cindy Peterson in West Yellowstone. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His interests included driving hot rods, fishing, playing tennis, and he enjoyed singing. Surviving are: Wife: Cindy Carter, West Yellowstone, MT Son: Jack Phillip (Tina) Carter, FL Daughter: Christine (Dennis) Groberg, IL Son: Michael Carter, AZ Son: Patrick Carter, CA Daughter: Corie Carter, West Yellowstone, MT Daughter: Christie (Wayne) Pinter, UT Brother: Gary (Marlys) Carter, West Yellowstone, MT 13 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carter; and a sister, Judy Carter. Funeral Services will be at 12 Noon Monday, June 30, 2003, at the West Yellowstone LDS Ward in West Yellowstone, Montana, (corner of Faithful & Gibbon Street), with Bishop Gary Carter officiating. The family will meet with friends Monday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the services. Burial will be in Fir Ridge Cemetery in West Yellowstone under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
