Jack Lavoy Cairns, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 8, 2012, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. He had been under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice and was most recently cared for by One Source Hospice.
Jack was born June 30, 1930, in Rawlins, Wyoming, to Logan Turner Cairns and Emma Helen Kennaday Cairns. He grew up and attended school in Rawlins and graduated from Rawlins High School. He later lived in North Platte, Nebraska and Cedaredge, Colorado, before moving to Idaho Falls.
On October 1, 1949, he married Beverly Ann Johnson in Rawlins, Wyoming. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 7, 1965. Jack worked as a part owner of Build Rite Lumber and Supply.
Jack was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings rendering countless hours of service and love to others. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and carpentry.

Daughter, Becky (John) Cooper of Boise, ID;
Son, Jack L. (Becky) Cairns Jr. of Ogden, UT,
Son, Bill (Kae) Cairns of Idaho Falls, ID;
Sister, Margaret (Norman) Wilson of Rawlins, WY,
Sister, Judy (Craig) Schmeling of Laughlin, NV;
18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Chris Campbell.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012, at the Rawlins LDS Church, 509 East Kendrick Street. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the church in Rawlins. Burial will be in the Rawlins Cemetery.
