JAMES C. "CLIFF" SAMSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- J. C. (Cliff) Samson, 97, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died December 7, 2001, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center.
He was born January 19, 1904 in Valley, Nebraska to James D. Samson and Ina M. Ackerman Samson. He attended the Samson grade school on the prairie in Eastern Wyoming for nine years. He lived in the Albion, Nebraska area, the Torrington Wyoming area and in Idaho Falls the last 64 years.
He married Sophie Marie Paulson November 4, 1926 in the Salem Lutheran Church in Nebraska. She preceded him in death October 4, 1988. He was a farmer all his life.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and served as Treasurer and on the Board of Directors.
He was a member of the York Grange for over 60 years and served as Chaplain for 9 years. As a hobby, he was a handyman and enjoyed fixing and repairing things.
Surviving are:Son: Robert W. (Barbara) Samson, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Betty Ann (Ron) Derricott, Salem, ORBrother: Leslie K. (Beuhla) Samson, Idaho Falls, IDSister: Celesta (Edward) Allen, Gering, NE10 Grandchildren, 27Great Grandchildren, and 5Great Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles D. and a sister, Metta Wolf.
Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 455 West Sunnyside Road, with Chaplain John Piirto officiating.
The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
