J. LEWIS ROBINSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Joseph Lewis Robinson, 82, of Ucon, died April 30, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 30, 1920 at Lake Town, Utah to Joseph Cravin Robinson and Mary (Polly) Coaks Robinson. He grew up and attended schools in the area. He received his bachelor's degree from Utah State University.
He married Marcella Rudd on July 12, 1946 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Afterwards, he went on to receive his Masters Degree at the University of Idaho. He then taught 2 years at Rexburg High School and then moved to Edmonds High School until they consolidated. He taught at Ucon until they consolidated to make Bonneville High School. He spent the remainder of his teaching career there and retired after a total of 40 years of teaching. He helped to organize the Teachers Credit Union where he was the treasurer for 25 years.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint and held many positions. He was an ordinance worker at the temple for many years. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, traveling in his R.V. with his family, and spending time with his grandchildren, Jonathan and Laura.
Surviving are:Wife: Marcella Robinson, Ucon, IDDaughter: Nancy (Lonny) Walker, Ucon, IDSister: Ruth (Ray) Elggren, Salt Lake City, UTSister: Irene (Alma) Johnson, Salt Lake City, UT 2 GrandchildrenHe was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Alma.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Saturday, May 4, 2002, at the Ucon LDS 4th Ward (2967 East 105 North), with Bishop Steve Winchester officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Ucon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
