Janet Kay Waters Ball, 70, of Iona, passed away on February 15, 2013, at her home.
She was born April 28, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Norman Lamond “Monte” Waters and Betty Jean Anderson Waters. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1960. Following high school she became certified as a Dental Assistant.
On November 3, 1961, she married Donald Jay Ball in the First Baptist Church in Idaho Falls. They moved to Iona in 1972. Kay was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She also worked as a Dental Assistant and had her own cleaning business. She was employed at Rocky Mountain Middle School as a Special Needs Aid. She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader, and participated as an artist in the Iona Art Guild.
Kay was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where her love for the Lord was demonstrated through her service and her dedicated Bible study. She ran the Vacation Bible School and made sure her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews could attend. She organized and ran God’s Club, a non-denominational after school program.
Kay was a family organizer and loved spending time with her immediate and extended family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she was very involved in their lives. She loved watching their sports; taking vacations with them; and doing sleepovers, sewing, crafts, and games on the floor together.

Brother: Gary (Linda) Waters, Ammon, ID
Brother: Monte (Sherry) Waters, Ammon, ID
Brother-in-law: Wade Campbell, Garfield, ID
Sister: Sandy Herrera, Ammon, ID
She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jean Campbell and her parents.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the First Church of the Nazarene (1900 Grandview Drive) with Pastor Bob Sherwood officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon) and on Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
