Ivy Farnsworth

Ivy Doris Jenson Farnsworth 93, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 21, 2012 at her home. Ivy was born June 11, 1918 in Shelton , Idaho to Nels Jenson and Rose Slaughter Jenson. On March 30, 1938 she married Williams Coles . He passed away in 1980. Then on August 30, 1982 she married Frances (Mike) Lee Massengale. He passed away in 1992. Then on September 7, 1994 she married Byram (By) LeRoy Farnsworth. He passed away in 2009. She and her family had a dry farm where she helped on the farm and later she worked at Fogg Drug Store. Ivy enjoyed going fishing, dancing, crocheting, playing pinochle and gardening, flowers and especially growing roses. She also enjoyed going for car rides to Mesa Falls, Palisades and Jack Pot. She liked feeding the ducks and geese and going to eat at Smitty’s on Sunday. Survivors include her step-children Son: Richard (Sally) Farnsworth of Alexandria, VA Son: Mark (MaryLou) Farnsworth of Ponca City, OK Son: Gregory Farnsworth of Idaho Fall, ID Daughter: Paricia Bateman of Idaho Falls, ID and several nieces, nephews, step-children, and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Coles, Francis Lee Massengale, Byram Farnsworth, Brothers: Calvin, Jay, Carl, and Allen Jenson, Sisters: Della Rose Denning, Marcelene Wheeler. Special thanks to her care giver Kim Fredrickson and her family. Also to Carl Freeman for checking on her and taking her to get her hair done. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 at Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to services at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road.
