IVEN BARZEE IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Iven Darious Barzee died on October 25, 2004 of complications of old age. He was 81 years old. Iven was born in Bone, Idaho, to Levi and Inza (Jones) Barzee on September 20, 1923. He grew up and attended elementary school in the Bone area. His family bough a second home in Ammon, where Iven graduated from the old Ammon High School. Iven lived and farmed in the Bone area his entire life. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Iven was an avid reader. His first choice of reading materials was always the scriptures or other church-related materials. He also liked history books and western novels. Iven was preceded in death by both of his parents. He was also preceded by a sister (Meryl) and two brothers (Cecil and Wayne). He is survived by 4 brothers, David (whereabouts unknown), Marion (Denise) and Ronald, both of Idaho Falls, and Jack (Donna) of Shelley, Idaho. He is also survived by 3 younger sisters, Eva (Duane) Smith of Beaverton, OR, Verna (Harold-deceased)Smith of Shelley, ID, and Sharon Kennedy of Idaho Falls. Iven also leaves behind dozens of nieces and nephews as well as numerous grand-nieces and nephews. Iven was particularly close to his niece, Terry (Mike) Toombs of Idaho Falls. During the latter years of his life, he was cared for primarily by her and her family. Iven will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2004, at the Ammon Cemetery, East Sunnyside Road, with Mike Toombs officiating. The family will visit with friends for 30 minutes prior to the service at the Ammon Cemetery. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
