Irna Jones

Irna Ellen Montague Jones, 94, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. She was under the care of her family and Hearts for Hospice. Irna was born January 5, 1918, in Newdale, Idaho, to William Albert Montague and Mary Brown Montague. She grew up and attended schools in Osgood and Ammon. She was a lifelong resident of the Osgood / Idaho Falls area. On December 30, 1941, she married George Marvin Jones in Idaho Falls and together they raised four children, Craig, JaNeal, Bill, and Asa. Irna was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She also did clothing alterations for Carrols, LeVines, and ZCMI. Marvin passed away July 30, 1973. Irna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a two-year full-time mission in Samoa. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and sewing. Survivor’s include: Son: Craig (Susan) Jones of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter: JaNeal (Kim) Barrett of Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Bill (Linda) Jones of Monument, CO; Son: Asa (Susan) Jones of Richland, WA; Sister: Faughn Ashworth of Salt Lake City, UT. 10 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, and two brothers. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Turtle & Crane and Hearts of Hospice for the kind and loving care given to our Mom. Graveside Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, prior to leaving for the cemetery.
