Iris ""Sami"" Wise

Iris "Sami" Wise, born October 1945, passed away peacefully May 13, 2018, at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.

Iris lived most of her life in eastern Idaho. She was born in Rigby and was the eighth of 13 children born to Thomas and Iona Ward.

Iris was an amazing singer and musician. For many years, Iris was the lead singer and personality in the country music band Sami and the Star Brights. Iris "Sami," often toured the western part of the United States and Canada playing country music with her band. Iris was also a master barber. Customers would drive from many miles around to get the perfect cut.

Iris had a very big heart and would often befriend the downtrodden and brokenhearted. She had an amazing way of bringing laughter, music and joy to those who were blessed to meet her.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Iona Ward, and brothers and sisters: Leon, Voyd, Clella, Arden, Orion, Acel and Ferrin.

Iris is survived by a daughter, Trina Wise; sons, Ryan and Shane Wise; grandchildren, Whitney and Brandon Miller, Matthew, Liesl, Abby, Brendon and Lauren Wise; and great-grandchildren, Skyler and Tyson Miller.

Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 785 First Street, in Idaho Falls, at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018. For further information contact Shane Wise 801-505-3681.
