Irene Westerkamp

Irene Imogene Harper Westerkamp, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 30, 2012, at The Gables Assisted Living with her daughter by her side. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. Irene was born January 11, 1921, in Bates, Arkansas, to Roy Harper and Delpha Mae Norton Harper. She grew up and attended schools in Fort Collins, Colorado. On June 16, 1942, she married Ralph Henry Westerkamp in Salinas, California. They lived in Escondido and San Marcos, California. Ralph passed away in 1996. In 2003 she moved to Idaho to be near their daughter and her family. Irene was a wife, mother, and homemaker. Irene was a member of the Idaho Falls Calvary Chapel. She enjoyed oil painting. Irene is survived by her Daughter, Bonnie (Ted) Ward of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Bettijean Powell of Clovis, CA; 2 Grandchildren, Jennifer and Gillian Tollast and 5 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, T. J. Harper, Warren Harper, and Roy Harper, Jr. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Calvary Chapel (4250 South 25th East) with Pastor Gordon Boyle officiating. A reception will follow the services at the church. Burial will be next to Ralph in Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido, California.
