Iola Cook Iola Bitton Cook, 93, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 28, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Iola was born December 5, 1916, in Riverside, Idaho, to William D. Bitton and Sarah Alice Peterson Bitton. She attended Riverside schools through the 10th grade and graduated from Moreland High School on May 16, 1934. Her family moved to Mackay in 1945, where she met Blaine H Cook. Iola and Blaine were married on April 2, 1936, in Leslie, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 27, 1986. They made their home on a farm in Leslie. In 1947 they moved to Salmon to raise their family. Blaine preceded her in death on February 28, 1984, and Iola moved to Idaho Falls. Iola was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a self-taught pianist which evolved to the organ and became a life-long service for church, weddings, funerals and other special occasions. She enjoyed crocheting doilies, sewing clothes and gardening. Survivors include: Son: Alonzo Dean (Lynda) Cook, Salt Lake City, UT Son: Jay H. Cook, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Ladelle E. (Connie) Cook, Dallas, TX Son: Cary Gene (Merrilee) Cook, Nevada Daughter: Elaine Iola (Jim) Moore, Idaho Falls, ID 25 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers and four sisters, and her eldest son, Blaine Eugene Cook. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon, with Lynn Schwendiman, a counselor in the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 3rd Ward Bishopric, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 1:45 p.m., both at Wood East Side. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
