INEZ BROWN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Inez Mable Coons Brown, 91, died February 2, 2006, at the Rexburg Nursing Center.
She was born January 1, 1915, in Torrington, Wyoming, to Wesley Marion and Mary Etta Coons. She attended grade school at Watson Valley School, a country school, and graduated from Torrington High School in 1933.
On February 27, 1935, she was united in marriage to Cecil Brown at Scottsbluff, Nebraska. To this union was born three children, Richard L., Wesley V., and Doris A. Moody. They also raised a niece, Dorothy J. Beal Galloway from the age of 8, when she came to live with them.
After her marriage they lived north of Henry, Nebraska, for two years, moved to a ranch on Salt Creek, northeast of Newcastle, Wyoming, for four years, and then moved to Newcastle, Wyoming, where they lived on area ranches. In April of 1949, they moved to Osage, Wyoming.
Inez lived in Osage, Wyoming, for 47 years. Her husband, Cecil, passed away in 1979. Due to her health she moved to Driggs, Idaho, in 1996, to be close to her son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Joyce Brown.
Inez belonged to the Osage Community Bible Church in Osage and Teton Valley Community Bible Church in Driggs. She also was a member of the Osage Community Sunday School. She belonged to the Church Dorcas Ladies, Osage Ladies Aid, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Senior Citizens of Newcastle.
Inez only worked outside her home for a relatively short period of time, spending most of her time as a wife, mother and homemaker. Her hobbies were knitting, quilt making, crocheting and painting oil pictures.
She is survived by three children, Dick (Joyce) Brown of Victor, ID, Wes (Toni) Brown of Broomfield, CO, and Dorothy (Gene) Galloway of Midland, TX; a sister, Marge (Lonnie) Slayter of Modesto, CA; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Inez is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil, her daughter, Doris, her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
In 2001, she was moved to the Rexburg Nursing Home in Rexburg, Idaho, where she lived until her death.
Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006, at the Teton Valley Community Bible Church in Driggs, Idaho, with Pastor John Oakley officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
