INES F. SCHULTZ
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Ines Fawn Hunter Schultz, 88, passed
away at her home on August 22, 2004 o f illness incident to a stroke.
She was born on March 4, 1916, in Heman, Idaho, to William Leslie Hunter
and Margaret Elizabeth Jenkins Hunter.
She attended elementary and middle school in St. Anthony and graduated
from Idaho Falls High School. She later attended Brigham Young University
and worked during that time at the BYU Bookstore. For many years, she
worked in Idaho Falls as an executive secretary, at the Teton Peaks Council
of the Boy Scouts of America and for 13 years for the president of the
American National Bank.
She married Dean W. Schultz on December 7, 1946, in Idaho Falls. Their
union was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. The couple had two
sons, and she was completely dedicated to her husband and children. She
was an exemplary wife and mother, and later, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was active in community activities in the Idaho Falls area, including
serving several years on the Idaho Falls Symphony Board, being a member
and president of the Idaho Falls Music Club, chairperson for the Bonneville
County Heart Fund Drive, and president with her husband of the Linden
Park Elementary School PTA. She was a lifelong active member of The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many leadership and teaching
positions in the Relief Society, Primary, and other auxiliary organizations,
as well as being an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. She inspired
others to be better people and had a way of making them believe they could
accomplish more than they otherwise thought the could. Often saying that
low aim is worse than failure, she insisted on perfection in herself and
others.
Her life was characterized by an abiding faith in God. She was generous
with her time and talents and loved to serve others. She always had a
kind word for all and looked for the best in people and things.
She was known among her family and friends for her exceptional skills
in writing, teaching, and organizational management. She was often asked
to prepare talks or write life histories for her relatives. She also delighted
others (especially her children and grandchildren) with her spellbinding
real-life stories and delicious desserts.
She loved nice things, and her home was a place of peace, love, and beauty
to all who spent time there. Many of her children’s friends still
consider her their “second mother” because of the positive
influence she had on them while growing up.
She enjoyed many memorable vacations with her family and traveled extensively
throughout the United States - visiting sites and attractions, spending
time with relatives, and supporting her husband in his responsibilities
with the Utah-Idaho District of Kiwanis.
Surviving are her husband of nearly 58 years, Dean, two sons, Dean R.
(Kathy) Schultz, Mission Viejo, CA, Stuart H. (Christine) Schultz, Bountiful,
UT, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and sisters, Elna (Don) Leymaster
of Idaho Falls and Phyllis (Charles) Goldthorpe, of Tustin, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Zella Swensen, Nila
Bigler, and Wilma Bennion, and her brother, Clyde Hunter.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2004, at
the Idaho Falls 20th Ward, 651 Gladstone, with Bishop Lance Toone officiating.
The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the service
Thursday at the church.
Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral
Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., Idaho Falls,.
