Ina Jean Wilkins Rasmussen, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away on April 8, 2015, at her home.
She was born May 29, 1926, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Charles Henry Wilkins and Eula Esther Fletcher Wilkins. She attended grade school in Coltman and graduated from Ucon High School where she was Senior Class Secretary. She continued her education at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho and Utah State University in Logan, Utah earning an Associate’s Degree.
On May 6, 1947, she married Albert George Rasmussen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1993. Ina was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker and also taught piano in her home. She had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper and also at Chesbro Music.
Ina was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings including pianist, organist, teacher, Relief Society Ward and Stake President, as counselor in various presidencies, and as Homemaking Leader. She enjoyed music, singing, and accompanying and occasionally accompanied the Nelson Orchestra.
Survivors are:
Daughter: Janice “Jan” Andersen, Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Kathryn Moore, Coltman, ID
12 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sons, Val Rasmussen and Steven Rasmussen (stillborn).
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Idaho Falls LDS Coltman 1st Ward (12448 N. 5th E.) with Bishop Blair Sautter officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
