She was born April 6, 1923 at the home of her parents, Burt L. and Celia Hanson Wackerli in Idaho Falls. She grew up in Idaho Falls and attended New Sweden Grade School and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1941. She then attended Idaho State University. Imogene and her husband, Keith S. Douglass, had their first date on Easter Sunday in 1941. They were married on Easter Sunday April 25, 1943 in Seattle, Washington. They spent time in Washington and later in San Diego, California while Keith was in the navy during WWII. When the war ended they came back to Idaho Falls. After returning, Imogene and Keith started a farm equipment business with her father. That business, Tractor Sales and Auto, Inc., continues today. Imogene was an original member of the F.A. Bridge Club started in 1946 and Evening Bridge Club. Both are still ongoing and those friendships have lasted through the years. About this time Imogene and Keith were blessed with two children, a daughter Terrie and a son Randall. Imogene loved to cook and tend to the needs of her family. Large family dinners were a tradition started by her mother and carried on by Imogene as long as she was able. Her passion for her family and others was what she really excelled at.
