Ileen Eastman

Ileen Eastman, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 7, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Ileen was born August 11, 1928, in South Gate, California, to Marcus D. Allen and Georgia Haws Allen. She grew up and attended schools in Thatcher, Arizona, graduated from Thatcher High School, and attended Gila Junior College in Thatcher (which later was renamed as Eastern Arizona Junior College), where she met her husband. On June 1, 1948, she married JT Eastman in Mesa, Arizona. To this union were born six children, Randy, Susan, Timothy, Carol, Kevin, and Denise. Ileen and JT eventually made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Ileen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving throughout her life in various positions in the Primary, Young Women and Relief Society. She also served a service mission with her husband at the Idaho Falls Humanitarian Center. She also served in the Medford, Oregon, and Idaho Falls, Idaho, Temples. She enjoyed making quilts for family members, flower gardening, and having visits from family members. Ileen is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, JT Eastman of Idaho Falls; son, Randy (Delores) Eastman of Idaho Falls; daughter, Susan (Kirk) Christensen of Rolla, MO; son, Timothy (Carol) Eastman of West Valley, UT; daughter, Carol (Blake Ostrowski) Disparte-Ostrowski of Palmdale, CA; son, Kevin (Kim) Eastman of Cape Coral, FL. She has 24 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Denise Eastman; and a brother, D Von Allen. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, at the Idaho Falls LDS Westhill Ward, 2040 Brentwood Drive, with Bishop Troy Bodily officiating. The family will visit with friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
