Idanah Danielson

Idanah Lorraine Danielson, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 16, 2017. Her family and Encompass Home Health & Hospice cared for her at home in her determined battle with cancer. Idanah was born October 3, 1926, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Cecil Glenn Robertson and Kathleen Jones Robertson. She was Cecil and Kate's first born and "big sister" to six brothers and sisters. Idanah married Earl Raymond Danielson July 3, 1946, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2016. Idanah and Earl had seven children, Lorraine, Raymond, Christine, Jeffrey, George, and twins Paul and James. They remodeled their first home and later purchased the home built by her father, Cecil, living there 63 years. Earl passed away May 18, 2017, and Idanah followed him five months later. Idanah was a loving and devoted mother, a skilled homemaker, and an excellent seamstress. She sewed many of her children's clothes when they were younger. Idanah enjoyed baking and made delicious scratch recipe fudge and divinity. Idanah kept a stash of licorice and M&Ms for her grandkids and great grandkids, as well a stash of toys, books, and puzzles. Flowers delighted Idanah, especially roses, lilacs, peonies, and sweet peas, and she always liked a fresh bouquet in the house. Idanah raised African violets, was an enthusiastic backyard birder, and an avid reader. She was an amateur photographer and had her own darkroom. She and Earl gave steadfast, compassionate care to their special needs son, Paul. Idanah was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in Relief Society, Mutual, and Primary as counselor and teacher, and as a visiting teacher. As a young woman, Idanah earned her Golden Gleaner Award. She and Earl spent years working as Spanish name extractors. Idanah was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Idanah is survived by six children, Lorraine (Russ) Stewart of Shelley, Raymond (Evelyn) Danielson of Puyallup, WA, Christine Danielson of Idaho Falls, Jeff (Maureen) Danielson of Osgood, George (Peggy) Danielson of Kaysville, UT, and Paul Danielson of Idaho Falls; 16 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Sisters, Beverly Robertson, of Palm Desert, CA; Kathleen Alsup of Sandy, UT, and Mary (Bob) Mock, of Sandy, UT; and brothers, Gary Robertson of Las Vegas, NV, and Donald (Kathy) Robertson of Murphys, CA also survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, an infant son, James Paul, a granddaughter, Analee West, and a brother, Cecil Glenn Robertson. Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop Jeff Clifford of the Grandview Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, both visitations at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Moreland Cemetery.
