Ida Nielsen Holmgren, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 20, 2015, in her home.
She was born November 3, 1926, in Roberts, Idaho, to Andrew Baxter Nielsen and Ann Kerr Walters Nielsen. She attended schools in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School. She continued her education by attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She worked at her father’s business, Nielsen Motors in Rigby, pumping gas and doing other tasks. She also did clerical work at Financial Credit Corp.
On September 21, 1949, she married H. LeRoy Holmgren in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She also worked alongside her husband at City Floral Shop and Garden Center for 50 years.
Ida was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many stake and ward positions. She loved music, was an accomplished singer and was a flutist in the Idaho Falls Symphony. She also enjoyed flower arranging, dancing, skiing, and doing family history. She especially loved her family and spending time with them.

Son: Kerry (Robyn) Holmgren of Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Kathy (Jerry) Ward of Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Jill (Kevin) Steel of Idaho Falls, ID
Brother: Andrew Dale (Betty) Nielsen of Yachats, OR
12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Nordlund and JoAnn Spaulding; one brother, Leigh Nielsen; and a great grandson, Titan Olsen.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Idaho Falls LDS Grandview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Jeff Clifford officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
