IDA EGAN Click here to view Ida's Video Tribute IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Ida Ruth Durrant Egan, 96, peacefully passed away February 27, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Ammon. Ida was born January 8, 1914, to Theodore John (King) Durrant and Eliza Adelgunda Heiner Durrant in Perry (near Ririe), Idaho. Ida and her twin sister, Lida, were the youngest of ten children. She grew up and attended schools in Ririe. Ida married Merlin Howard Egan on June 24, 1932, in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. They lived in Ririe, Rigby, Idaho Falls, and Ammon, and spent their lives farming and had a herd of dairy cattle. They raised five children. She loved to garden and always had a big raspberry patch, which was her pride and joy, along with her flowers. She loved to can and store food and never wasted anything. She was always by her husband’s side in everything he did. Merlin called her his good luck charm! Merlin passed away August 4, 1988. Ida was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings in the Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society. She loved her family and doing things for them. Her hobbies were crocheting, cooking, canning, gardening and sewing. She was an avid seamstress, even making her own curtains and draperies. She will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her children, Daughter, Doriene (Glen) Farnes of Ammon, Idaho; Daughter, Jeanette (Dale ) Ricks of Gooding, Idaho; Daughter, Arlene (Arlin) Fullmer of Iona, Idaho; Son, David (Alysia) Egan of Ririe, Idaho Son, Steve (Deon) Egan of Ririe, Idaho; 16 Grandchildren and 48 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, five sisters, two granddaughters, and one great-grandson. The family would like to thank Hospice of Eastern Idaho for all the loving care they gave our mother. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, at the Ammon LDS 6th Ward Chapel, 2150 Avocet Avenue. The family will visit with friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
