Hunter “Jacob” Simonson

Hunter Jacob Simonson, 16, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 2, 2024, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center after a tragic accident.

Jacob was born September 17, 2007, in Shenandoah, Texas, to Mandi Svancara. He grew up and attended schools in Colorado and moved to Idaho Falls in 2021. He attended Black Canyon Middle School and Thunder Ridge High School where he played football. He also enjoyed playing hockey, motorcycle riding, fishing, hunting, and he especially loved snowboarding. He worked for Iona Custom Cabinets and Countertops. Most of all, he loved taking care of his niece, Tallulah.

Jacob is survived by his mother, Mandi Svancara of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Abigail Svancara (Jesus Playas) of Idaho Falls, ID; niece, Tallulah Jane Playas of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Christopher Avery Bryant of TX; uncle, Nick Svancara of Boise, ID; aunt, Megan Scanvara of FL; cousins, Kade and Elie Svancara of Boise, ID; grandmother, Evelyn Rossi of Idaho Falls, ID; and grandfather, Dennis Svancara of Blackfoot, ID.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kathy Svancara; great grandparents, Charles & Vivian Rossi and Ralph & Betty Svancara.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the LDS Virlow Building, 2349 Virlow. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
