Howard Rice

HOWARD RICE IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Howard Grove Rice, 74, died April 12, 2008, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center as the result of an automobile accident. He was born January 11, 1934, in Hailey, Idaho, to Glenn Rice and Charlotte Grove Howard Rice. He grew up and attended schools in the Hailey area and graduated from Hailey High School. He joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War, Viet Nam, and Gulf Wars. He married Bonnie Marie Powers April 21, 1955, in Elko, Nevada. They lived in Rupert, Pocatello, Blackfoot, Chubbuck and currently in the Swan Valley-Palisades area. Howard enjoyed restoring old cars, mechanical work and fishing. Survivors include: His wife, Bonnie Rice of Swan Valley; Daughter, Alice Marie Rice of Quartzite, AZ; Son, William (Terri) Rice of Tulsa, OK Son, Allen (Mary) Rice of Fullerton, CA Brother, Glenn Rice of Gooding, ID Brother, Richard Rice of Beaumond, CA 4 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Donny, four sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, Alice and Stella, a brother, John, and a grandson, Cory. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 18, at the Chapel in the Valley in Swan Valley, Idaho.
