Howard Leavitt

Howard Norman Leavitt, 67, of Idaho Falls passed away November 22, 2010 at his home. He was born June 15, 1943 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Virgil Horton Leavitt and Eula L. Williams Leavitt. He attended O. E. Bell Jr. High and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He married Andrea Jean Fox on January 10, 1969 in Idaho Falls. She passed away May 30, 2004. Howard worked at Farr’s Ice Cream and Candy Company, Bob’s Upholstery, and Phase Application. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed the challenge of serving as a ward clerk in the Idaho Falls 26th Ward. Howard enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved talking about history and especially the history of Idaho Falls. He also loved telling stories to his grandchildren and spending time with them. Howard is survived by: Son, Patrick (Jenn) Reay of Warwick, RI; Daughter, Michelle Leavitt of Idaho Falls, ID; Step-daughter, Denise (John) Wharton-Morris of Alameda, CA; Sister; Elaine (Ray) Henken of Idaho Falls; 7 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Andrea, brother, Darrell and sister-in-law Susanna Leavitt. Services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.) with Bishop Paul Manning officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 pm prior to the services.
