Hollis Walton

Hollis Walton, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 26, 2013, at his home. He was born on August 4, 1930, in Cleveland, Idaho, to Lawrence Walton and Emily Ransom Walton. He grew up and attended schools in Cleveland, Idaho. The family lived in Idaho, Washington, and Wyoming, before settling in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Hollis graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1948. On June 12, 1951, he married the love of his life, Naomi Marilyn Winther, in Butte, Montana. She preceded him in death on June 13, 2007. In his younger years he worked as a hod packer and laborer before becoming a plasterer and drywaller in the construction business. Hollis enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, hunting, and anything to do with the “Great Outdoors.” He also enjoyed doing puzzles, collecting coins, playing checkers with grandchildren, and loved to talk and tell stories about the old times. Survivors are: Son: Barney Walton, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Hollie Walton, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Dave (Lorea) Walton, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Robert “Bob” Walton, Idaho Falls, ID 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, and a sister. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
