HOLLIS T. SARGENT
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Surrounded by loved ones, Hollis Tanner Sargent died peacefully at his daughter's home in Idaho Falls of lung cancer on May 2, 2006. He was 84.
He was born April 21, 1922, to Vaughn Sargent and Ella Mae Tanner Sargent of Grant, Idaho. He grew up in the Grant and Coltman areas.
He married Barbara Sperry in 1942. They were later divorced. He served in the Air Force in the Asian Theater during World War II. He lived in East Milo, where he farmed for many years.
He rode with the Rigby Posse. Later, he and his son raised and trained race horses. He also loved to dance. He loved and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss him greatly.
He is survived by one son and two daughters, Gary H. Sargent and Sandra L. Sargent, both of Idaho Falls; Joy A. Tucker of Richland, WA; a brother, Max H. Sargent of Escondido, CA; 7 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elaine Jex.
