HOLLI (HOUSLEY) BASTIAN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Our
beloved Holli (Housley) Bastian returned home to her Father in Heaven
on June 2, 2003, after a long and courageous battle with multiple health
problems.
Holli was born on February 2,
1969, to Larry Keith and Kathryn Kesler Housley in Blackfoot, Idaho. At
the age of three, her family moved to Soda Springs. In 1976, the family
settled in St. Anthony. Holli graduated from South Fremont High School in
1987 and then attended Ricks College. She was employed at the INEEL, and
later worked in Logan and Salt Lake City. Due to health complications, including
juvenile diabetes, Holli moved to Idaho Falls in 1996 to be close to family.
The community blessed her greatly as she became the recipient of its generosity
through the "Holli for Christmas" Fund Raiser. She said many times
that the love shown to her throughout this event was one of the greatest
blessings of her life. In 1997, she met her true love, Bruce Bastian. It
was love at first sight. They were married on April 25, 1997. In 1999, Holli
became paralyzed as a result of her illness. From then on, her husband lovingly
and selflessly cared for her, along with the help of her parents and family.
Holli was a devout member of
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Despite her health challenges,
she always remained cheerful and grateful to all who helped her. She has
touched the lives of many in a profound way. She will truly be missed by
her family and all who were blessed to know her.
Survivors include her husband,
Bruce Bastian; her parents, Larry and Kathy Housley; three brothers, Tracy
Housley, Greg (Cathy) Housley, Todd (Jennifer) Housley; and one sister,
Debi (Craig) Womack, all of Idaho Falls. She is also survived by her step-children,
Ryan Bastian, currently serving an LDS mission in Russia, Derek Bastian
of Idaho Falls, Jeremy and Chante Bastian of Carmel, CA., and her nephews
and nieces, Nathan, Cameron, Clayton, and Austin Housley, Alexys Womack,
and Reagan Housley, all of Idaho Falls. She was preceded in death by two
nephews, Blake Womack and Todd Housley, Jr., and her grandparents, Louis
and Dena Housley, Ray Kesler, and Helen Hemming.
Funeral Services will be at 11
a.m. Friday, June 6, 2003, at the Idaho Falls LDS South Stake Center, 2051
South Emerson, with Bishop Brad Doman of the Idaho Falls LDS 8th Ward officiating.
The family will visit with friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood
Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Friday for one hour prior to the services
at the church. Burial will be in the St. Anthony-Riverview Cemetery under
the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
While on this earth she was bedfast.
Then the Savior took her by the hand and said,
"Arise and walk with me."
