HERB WILDE
IONA, ID -- Herbert Myron Wilde, 79, of Iona, died May 24, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.
Herb was born January 8, 1931, in Arco, Idaho, to George Andrew Wilde and Alice Rae Burton Wilde. He was raised in Roberts, Idaho. He attended schools in Roberts, Howe and Mud Lake. He served as a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He married Darlene Simmons on August 4, 1950, in Lorenzo. They lived in Roberts for seven years, then moved to Iona, where they have lived for the past 53 years. Herb worked as a service technician for Snake River Equipment for 25 years and then for Case Power & Equipment for 20 years. From the time he retired, until the time of his death, he was still rebuilding tractors and helping people.
He enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Idaho Falls Promenaders. He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing Yellowstone Lake, and four-wheeling. Herb especially loved spending time with his family.

Brother: Avon (Cloy) Wilde, Roberts, ID
Brother: Elmer (DeAnna) Wilde, Roberts, ID
Sister: Leona Jones, Roberts, ID
6 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, George Wilde; mother, Alice Wilde Drowns; Step-father, Calvin Drowns; brother, Alvin Wilde; son-in-law, Michael Duffield; and granddaughter April Kae Wilde.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2010, at the Iona Stake Center on the corner of Highway 26 and 55th East, with Bishop Brad Bailey of the Iona LDS 5th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge and on Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery . Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.

I was sorry to read about Herb in the paper. I will be thinking of you and your family during this time. I remember the years we worked together in the lab at IFP. I am mostly stuck in the house on oxygen with a lung problem at this time. Vet
