HERBERT "BUCK" BORDEN
PALISADES, ID -- Herbert John “Buck” Borden,
65, of Palisades, Idaho, passed away June 5, 2005, from a short illness of
cancer. He was born October 5, 1939, at Pittsfield, Massachusetts, to Eugene
Merril Borden and Angela Noella Fulker Borden. He was the oldest of five children.
He attended Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Pittsfield High
School.
He married Charlene Bradford August 1, 1959. Soon after,
they moved to Orange County, California, where he went into the dry cleaning
business. Three children were born to this union, Craig, Wendy, and Brian.
Buck and Charlene were divorced in 1987. Buck sold his business and retired,
moving to Arizona and vacationing in Idaho. This is where he met Nellie Ellis
Brown. They were married at Ely, Nevada on March 1, 1995. They have spent
the last ten years between their homes in Palisades Creek, Idaho, during the
summer months, and Martinez Lake, Arizona, in the winter months. Buck loved
to spend his time in the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and snomobiling. He was
a member of the Snow-Roamers Club in Palisades. He also loved 4-wheeling in
the mountains near their home. During the winter months in Arizona, Buck and
Nellie loved to go bass fishing on the Colorado River and take jeep trips
in the desert.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie Borden of Palisades; two sons,
Craig (Amy) Borden of Placientia, CA and Brian (LaRaye) Borden of Orange,
California; one daughter, Wendy Borden of Temecula, CA; four grandchildren,
Ryan, Brianna, Christopher, and Isaiah; his mother, Angela Borden Muncie of
Sun City, CA; a sister, Angela (Tom) Lynch of Pebble Beach, FL; three brothers,
Armond (Nadine) Borden of Port Charlotte, FL; Eugene (Sharon) Borden of Bradenton,
FL, Charles (Judy) Borden of North Fork, CA; his step children, Rex (Karen)
Ellis of Pocatello, ID, Cheryl (Dennis) Fisher of Boise, ID, Debra (Val) Harris
of Smoot, WY, Dee Ann (John) Sloan of Jackson Hole, WY, Jan (Steve) Zeri of
Rock Springs, WY, Emma (Rick) Hulse of Idaho Falls, Robert (Annette) Brown
of Ririe, and Rodney (Beth) Brown of Idaho Falls, ID. He was preceded in death
by his father.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2005,
at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge, Idaho Falls, with Rex Ellis
officiating. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the
services at Wood Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
