Henry Gordon White

Henry Gordon White, 86, of Ammon, passed away July 25, 2023, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.

Henry was born August 12, 1936, in Ucon, Idaho, to Theodore Howard White and Elva Mary Gardner White. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1955. On July 12, 1956, he joined the United States Air Force and served for four years.

On January 11, 1964, he married Rhea Shirley Ripplinger in Elko, Nevada. They had two children together, Destry and Shannon. Henry and Rhea made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where Henry worked as a laborer for Basic American Food.

Henry really enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed spending time with all of his family and friends.

Henry will be greatly missed.

Henry is survived by his son, Destry (K’tanya) White; grandchildren, Sherone Hoehn, Bryce (Yesi) White, Makaya White, Kelly (Nate) Barber, and Chrissy (Travis) Walbridge; and siblings, Fred and Lorie.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Rhea; his parents; his children, Shannon White, Teresa Todd, and Ian Gould; and his siblings, Lois, Margaret Delores, Gayland, Cliff, and Howard.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Ammon Cemetery, 5226 East Sunnyside Road. The family will visit with friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Air Force Honor Guard.
