Henry Martin

HENRY E. MARTIN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Henry Martin, husband of Vilate and father to Sheri (Mike Sorensen) Loretta, (Brad Duncan) Marcella (Tom Lyman), Steve and Shane, left this life after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born to Therese and Albrecht Martin in Rock Springs, Wyoming and had two younger sisters, Ruth and Johanna. He attended high school in Rexburg, Idaho and was awarded a scholarship to play basketball in San Mateo, California. He then married and as the owner of the Home Service Laundry and Fawn Drive-In Cleaners for 20 years, became a successful businessman in Idaho Falls. After selling his business he had the honor of working in the temple and regretfully retired after 28 years of devoted service. He will be forever remembered for his love of country, church, his horses and the outdoors; and for never meeting or leaving anyone without a smile and his signature jokes. He will be missed - but warmly welcomed by his son, Shane, his granddaughter, Macae, and his parents who were before him. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2005, at the Idaho Falls LDS Eagle Rock Stake Center (2020 Charlotte Drive) with Bishop Larry Klinger of the Idaho Falls LDS 39th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and for one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park. __________________________________ Condolences sent: Weston and Lila Lawrence (lawrencel@cableone.net) We were so sorry to hear of Henry's passing. We went to school with Henry and were very good friends. Wes played basketball with him during their high school years. We were sorry that he was not able to attend our class reunion this past summer. We had no idea he was so ill. We extend our sympathy and love to you, Vilate, and all of your family. I know you have wonderful memories of this great man.
