Henry Carl Fonnesbeck

Henry Carl Fonnesbeck, our five year old boy, passed away October 7, 2023, while in his backyard "doing work."

Henry was born June 21, 2018, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Travis and Emily Fonnesbeck. Henry came to a family of boys: Brenner, Clark, James, and Lucas. Lucas passed away two years before Henry was born. Henry helped to heal the hearts of his family and those around him. He was joy personified. As a baby, he was content. Henry could lay or sit on the floor with toys and play, happy to be anywhere he was. As a toddler, he became very busy, in almost constant motion. His favorite things were his brothers, construction vehicles, motorcycles, dirt, and most of all, doing work. A common phrase from Henry was, "I need to go outside and do some work," then he would climb on his John Deere Tractor and go. He was mowing the lawn, loading sticks into his trailer, or simply digging in the dirt. Henry lived a life full of purpose. He always had something to accomplish, and when he was feisty with his mom, it was usually because she was calling away from his "work."

Henry attended Sunnyside Elementary school where he loved learning with his kindergarten friends. He loved his teachers. Henry was a friend to all. He was very creative. He was always building things from legos to play campfires to wilderness forts. He particularly enjoyed building towers with magnet tiles in the classroom.

Henry enjoyed going to Primary in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved learning about Jesus and singing songs with his Primary friends. He was always helping his family become more Christ-like.

Henry loved Jimmy John's sandwiches, snow cones, and fruit snacks. He loved hiking with his family and friends and spent this summer hiking all the best places in Eastern Idaho with his mom, brothers, and the Kellers. He worked hard every day, so he appreciated a good 12-hour sleep at night. He loved playing with his cousins, old and young. Everyone was equal in his eyes. He collected toy tractors, trucks, motorcycles, and other trinkets from his grandparents, who doted on him without restraint.

Henry was preceded in death by his brother, Lucas John Fonnesbeck; aunt, Megan Joy Ballou; and great-grandparents, Fonnesbeck, Green, Ballou, Adams, and Vail.

He is survived by his parents, Travis and Emily Fonnesbeck; brothers, Brenner, Clark, and James Fonnesbeck; and grandparents.
