Helen Williams

Helen Davis Williams, 93, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 20, 2012, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. She was under the care of her family and OneSource Hospice. Helen was born March 7, 1919, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to Thomas Edward Davis and Ellen Leishman Davis. She grew up and attended public schools in Canada. On March 27, 1967, she married Lou Williams in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Helen was a wife, mother, and homemaker most of her life. She also worked as a waitress and dental assistant. She and Lou moved to Idaho Falls 42 years ago. Lou passed away October 23, 2000. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many callings over the years, including temple ordinance worker, twice as a stake missionary, as a full-time missionary in the Texas, Houston Mission, and at the Idaho Falls Family History Center. Helen is survived by her Daughter, Nadine (Larry) Shepherd of Bountiful, UT, Daughter, Christine (Myron) Hanchett of Bountiful, UT, Daughter, Holly Colwell of Meridian, ID; Son, Rick Williams of Thailand; Brother, Bill Edward (Betty) Davis of Gold Hill, OR; Sister, Rita Clarice (Jules) Henrion of Central Point, OR; Son-In-Law, Gary Abbott of Las Vegas, NV. 20 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, and 27 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Marion Abbott; three sisters, Zoe Payne, Zen Clements, and Edro Rosecrans; two brothers, George Davis and Tom Davis; and a great-great grandson, Garrett Mangelson. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at Idaho Falls LDS 24th Ward, 1155 East First Street, with Bishop Doug Hillman officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 29th in the Twin Falls Cemetery, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls.
