Helen Ecce Williams, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed into eternity to join her Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 30, 2016. Helen’s strong faith in God was life-long.
Helen was born May 16, 1927, in Bayfield, Colorado, to Claude and Myra Monger. She had many wonderful memories of growing up with her six siblings on the family farm.
She married Benny Bodo in 1949. They had three children. Benny passed away in 1961. In 1974 she married Dean Williams. Dean passed away in 1984.
Helen was an operator for Mountain Bell Phone Company retiring after more than 23 years of service. But her favorite job was being a mom.
Helen loved gardening and at one point she had over one hundred iris in her garden. She was a member of the Iris Club for many years. She was very good at floral arranging winning many ribbons at the county fair. She was an avid bowler, bowling into her seventies. She enjoyed dancing, collecting antique glass, especially Iris Herringbone, camping, and the outdoors, even going white-water rafting in her eighties. Above all, she loved the Lord and her family. She was a wonderful woman with a heart of gold.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Vivian Gardner of Idaho Falls, ID; sons, Chester Bodo (Lynné) of LaPlata, NM, and Benny Bodo of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters; two brothers; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, and one grandchild. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, with Pastor Steve Morreale officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior. Burial will be at later date in Durango, Colorado.
