HELEN MICKELSEN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Helen Katherine Mickelsen, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 15, 2006, at Idaho Falls Health & Rehab of natural causes. Helen was born February 27, 1916, in Grant, Idaho, the eleventh of eleven children born to Xavier Franz Moedl and Katherine Mischler Moedl. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Midway High School. Helen was married to Royal Henry Mickelsen February 10, 1937, in Rexburg, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls and she was a homemaker and mother. Royal passed away October 28, 1984. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a teacher in the Young Women organization. She served for several years as a Pink Lady at the LDS Hospital on Memorial Drive in Idaho Falls. She enjoyed golf, bridge, and playing cards with her family and friends. Survivors are her six children, Son: Jay R. (Claudia) Mickelsen, Pocatello, ID; Daughter: Monna (Richard) Haderlie, Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter: Myra Heuer, Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Gary R. Mickelsen, Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Kent H. (Earlene) Mickelsen, Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter: Helen Marie (David) Askew, Ten Sleep, WY; 19 Grandchildren; 45 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, eight brothers, two sisters, and a granddaughter. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Wood East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road, with Van Sargent officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and for one hour prior to the services Thursday, both at Wood East Side.
