Helen Cherol Norton Hill, 83, was called home by her Heavenly Father on November 7, 2015, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
She was born March 18, 1932, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Alma Samuel Norton and Margaret Delorus Johnson Norton. Helen grew up in Sugar City and graduated from Sugar Salem High School in 1950.
She attended Ricks College and graduated from Idaho Falls Business College. On September 8, 1952, Helen married Burt DuWayne Hill. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1994.
She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Forde Johnson Oil Company and Mel Brown Pump Company and always took a lot of pride in her work. Helen was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held several positions. She received her temple endowments and was sealed to her parents February 1988. Helen loved the Church very much and was proud to be a member.
Helen loved country music and fiddle music, and she cherished her many friends and tried to be a good friend to them. She was very proud of her family and loved them all very much.
She is survived by her son Kurt DuWayne (Anne) Hill, daughter, Sherry Fawn (Joey) McKenzie; grandchildren, Jessica Marie (Elias) Perez, Rory DuWayne Hill, Jake Allen Hill, and Brandon James Hill; great-grandsons, Antonio Elias Perez, Dylan Kurt Hill, Drayden James Hill, Gabriel William Perez; and great-granddaughter, Victoria Marie Perez.
Her family would like to thank the Idaho Falls Health & Rehab and Life Care Center Sunday School and Relief Society missionaries, long time friends Carolyn and Winston Beard, Connie and Lee Brundage, Dr. Fritz Schmutz and family, and all the nurses and aides for the kind and considerate care they gave our mom over the years. She loved them. A special thank you to Christina Soria and the Life Care Hall 4 nurses and aides, your kindness and compassion will be remembered always.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Lorin McArthur of the Ammon LDS 2nd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
