Helen Elliott

Helen LaRue Coles Elliott, 67, of Iona, passed away December 25, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. She was under the care of her loving husband, Alliance Home Health and Hospice, and her family is particularly grateful for the special care given by Sherry Jackson. Helen was born on July 17, 1945, to Levi Henry Coles and Myrle O. Prophet. She attended Clark Elementary, Rigby Jr. High, and graduated from Rigby High School. She later attended Ricks College. On December 11, 1964, she married Stephen Rushton Elliott in Clark, Idaho, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Helen worked as an administrative secretary for the City of Idaho Falls for 28 years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Helen served in Young Women’s for over 20 years, in various Relief Society callings, and as a Sunday School Teacher. She loved roses and took great pride in growing and caring for them. Helen enjoyed collecting Longaberger Baskets and was always excited to show off her newest addition to the collection. Christmas was her favorite holiday! She was a meticulous gift wrapper and an excellent gift giver. Helen enjoyed spending time at the farm with her family, harvesting and canning from her garden, but her favorite time spent was with her husband, children and grandchildren. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Stephen Rushton Elliott, Son: David Stephen (Janice) Elliott of Ammon, ID Daughter: Julie Marie (David) Calley of Meridian, ID Son: Danny Coles (Rebecca) Elliott of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Johnny Levi Elliott of Meridian, ID; Grandson: Andrew Stephen (Bradey) Hill of Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Douglas L. (Darlene) Coles of Rexburg, ID 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter. Diana Lynn Elliott, a brother, David Wayne Coles, and a granddaughter, Lyndsey Diana Elliott. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Iona LDS Stake Center, 55th East and Ririe Highway, with Bishop Lynn Rockwood of the Iona 5th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and for one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Iona Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
