Helen Betty Hallock Bach, 89, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 9, 2011, at Good Samaritan Center, Idaho Falls Village, of natural causes.
Helen was born April 16, 1921, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Jonathan Canthine Hallock and Resmine Yessen Hallock. She attended schools in New Jersey and graduated from Flemington High School in 1939. She also attended business college. She joined the Women's Army Corps in 1944 and was stationed in Washington, D.C. after she completed her training in Georgia. She also worked in the personnel office in Shanghai, China, and lived in the “WAC Shack” in Singapore. After the war she lived and worked in Havre, Montana.
Helen married Louis Arthur Bach February 20, 1956, in Havre, Montana. They made their home in Havre, Montana, before moving to Idaho Falls where they lived for many years. Helen was a homemaker and also worked in Central Supply at LDS / Riverview Hospital and EIRMC, retiring when she was 75 years old. Louis passed away October 12, 2009.
Helen was a member of the Idaho Falls Catholic Community and was thrilled at her baptism in the fall of 2009. She enjoyed cooking, reading, scrapbooking, and crafts.
Helen is survived by a niece, Marion Walker of Florida, and her "adopted" daughter and dear friend, Heidi Gainan of Idaho Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters, and a brother.
Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church (on the corner of 9th & Lee), with Father Raul Covarrubias officiating, assisted by Deacon Wence Rodriquez.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15th in Fielding Memorial Park. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
