HELEN ARMFIELD
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Helen Mary Fitzpatrick Armfield, 91, passed away July 4, 2009 at Mount Vernon Assisted Living Center. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.
She was born September 4, 1917, in Hardin, Montana, to William Fitzpatrick and Mary Kristok Fitzpatrick. She attended Beaver Dam Grade school in Opportunity, Montana. She grew up in Anaconda, Montana.
She married J. Roy Armfield on November 13, 1934, in Eagle, Idaho. They lived in Bitteroot Valley until 1949, and then moved to Idaho Falls. Helen lived in Idaho Falls for the past 60 years and shared a home rental business with her husband. He passed away October 28, 1998.
Helen was a member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed photography, oil painting, gardening, poetry music, bird watching and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She especially enjoyed playing her organ.
She is survived by her daughter,
Marie (Bob) Gokey, of Roberts, ID;
Daughter: Malinda (Dennis) Kiser, of Idaho Falls;
Sister: Mary Correa of Portland, OR;
8 Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Marlene Chapman and a granddaughter, Melissa Gokey.
Graveside Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the Ammon Cemetery with Chaplain Newell Walker of Aspen Hospice officiating.
