Heland H. "Lynn" Hansen - 02/01/2002 Heland H. "Lynn" Hansen - 02/01/2002 HELAND H. "LYNN" HANSEN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Heland H. "Lynn" Hansen, of Idaho Falls, passed away at the age of 80, peacefully of natural causes January 31, 2002, surrounded by his family. Lynn was born December 15, 1921 in Grant, Idaho to Nephi and Clesta Hansen, the second of five children. He grew up and attended school at Grant Elementary and graduated from Midway High in Lewisville, Idaho. On New Year's Eve in 1941, he met his beautiful future bride, Norma Peterson. They married eight months later on August 10, 1942 in Seattle, Washington. Three months later on October 3, he enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Force and served until he was honorably discharged on December 10, 1945. They were blessed with three beautiful children over the years. First came their daughter, Carolyn Lee, then their son, Ronald Lynn, and finally their second daughter, Sandra Jo. He worked for several years as a Mechanic at the Idaho Falls City Garage and later for Westinghouse Corporation as a Mechanical Technician until he retired in 1986. While there, he served as Secretary of his local union. Lynn had many interests and hobbies. Number one to him was his family. He enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He spent much of his younger years fishing and snowmobiling with family and friends. Later in his life, he enjoyed watching and feeding the many squirrels and birds in his back yard. He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Hansen, Idaho FallsDaughter: Carolyn L. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Don and his sister, Carma Harris. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 45, 2002, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines with Richard Elwood officiating.. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services at Wood Funeral Home on Monday. The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
