HEIDI GEORGE
IDAHO FALLS, ID - On February 4, 2004, a special angel,
Heidi George, age 29, was called back to her Heavenly Father. She died
at her home in Idaho Falls of a brain tumor, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 23, 1974 in Provo, Utah to Joseph Douglas
George and Barbara Willis George. She spent her early years in Nashua,
New Hampshire. At the age of two it was discovered that she had a brain
tumor, which she survived. However it caused developmental handicaps.
She accomplished much in spite of her limitations.
When the family moved to Idaho Falls, she attended area
schools, graduating from Hillcrest High School in 1995. After graduation
she worked at the Development Workshop for 9 years.
She received her Young Womanhood Recognition Award,
received awards in Special Olympics, and was Client of the Year for 1997-1998
at the Development Workshop. She loved to help in her father's business.
She was an active member of the LDS church, holding a
calling in the nursery for eleven years. She loved children and they loved
her. She is the volunteer of the Month at Fox Hollow Elementary for February
2004. She enjoyed scrapbooking with her sister and her mother, collecting
teddy bears, playing games and fun family vacations. She loved being with
her family which includes many cousins. She loved her dog Gus. She had
many friends she loved to be with. Her family loved her dearly. Heidi
was a special, sweet person, who touched many lives. She was an angel.
Heidi is survived by her parents, brothers, Carl and
Douglas, a sister, Alice Palmer and brother-in-law, Jeff Palmer; grandparents,
Joseph Carl and Carol George and Winona Willis. She was preceded in death
by her grandfather, Curtis L. Willis, and a cousin, Jennie Wyler.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February
7, 2004, at the Ammon LDS 13th Ward, 4375 East Sunnyside Road (corner
of Crowley and Sunnyside) with Bishop Dick Powell officiating. The family
will meet with friends Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Wood East
Side Chapel, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday for one hour before services
at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
