HAZEL MARTIN IDAHO FALLS, ID - Hazel Lorraine Langley Martin, 89, of Rigby, passed away April 26, 2004, at her son’s home in Pocatello. She was under the care of the Hospice Alliance. She was born June 10, 1914, in Idaho Falls, to Jacob Brown Langley and Myrtle Ellen Strahle Langley. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. She married Porter Eldon Martin July 1, 1928, in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS Temple on November 15, 1934. She was a homemaker and mother. She also worked briefly in a potato processing plant. Her husband passed away March 14, 1970. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in the Primary and the other auxiliaries. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, singing, dancing, music, and spending time with her special friend, Katrina Ray. The family wants to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to Peter at Hospice Alliance in Pocatello, and to the entire staff for their compassionate, caring help. Surviving are: Son: Clyde Arthur [Dixie] Martin (Rigby, ID); Son: Guy Eugene [Anena] Martin (Pocatello, ID); Daughter: Shirley Ann [Jay] Evans (Riverton, UT); Brother: Cecil [Jeri] Langley (Carmichael, CA); 26 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, six children, Bonnie Lou Martin, Larry Dee Martin, Reva Evon Martin, and three infant children, Connie Lorraine Martin, Vernon Elias Martin, and Muggs Martin, and five grandchildren, Eric Martin, Carrie Alston, Lorraine Thornock, Chad Thornock, and Tammy Freeman. Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 1, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, with Bishop Steven Anderson of the Rigby LDS 10th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to the services on Saturday, both at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
