HAZEL HOLBROOK
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Hazel Elizabeth Stanger Mickelsen
Holbrook, 81, of Idaho Falls, died January 22, 2005, at Good Samaritan
Care Center. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho; she endured
many years of Multiple Sclerosis, and endured them well.
She was born March 27, 1923, in Iona, Idaho, to Delbert
Stanger and Martha (Moss) Steele Stanger. She grew up and attended school
in Iona and graduated from Iona High School.
She married Guy H. Mickelsen April 4, 1941. They were
later divorced. On September 15, 1954, she married Blane W. Holbrook and
moved to Idaho Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls
LDS Temple June 6, 1958. She worked hard at the many jobs in which she
was employed, including the Bonneville County Courthouse, the AEC government
office in Idaho Falls, and Roger Brothers. Blane passed away April 6,
2004.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings, including
Sunday School, MIA, and Relief Society. She also served a Stake Mission
in the Idaho Falls South Stake. She loved people and doing nice things
for them, family history, and enjoyed visits from family and friends.
Her warm smile and concern for others will always be remembered and missed.

Son: Gregory (Peggy) Mickelsen, Idaho Falls, ID
Brother: William “Bill” Stanger, Iona, ID
11 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January
26, 2005, at the Idaho Falls LDS Rose Park Ward, 351 West 14th Street,
with Gary Walker of the Rose Park Ward Bishopric officiating.
The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:30
to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and Wednesday for one
hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Iona Cemetery under the direction of
Wood Funeral Home.
