Harvey Henry Meyer, 90, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away December 27, 2013, at his home of natural causes. He was under the care of Encompass Hospice.
Harvey was born August 27, 1923, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Benjamin Andrew Meyer and Anna Wilhemina Drinkuth Meyer. He grew up and attended schools in the Coltman area including Fairview Elementary and graduated from Ucon High School. Harvey served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On September 5, 1952, he married Olive Stewart in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. To this union were born four children, Ben, Janet, Maureen, and Scott. Harvey and Olive made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Harvey worked as a farmer. He was also a school bus driver. Olive passed away January 13, 1998.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as a faithful home teacher, and Scoutmaster and was awarded the Silver Beaver in the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed rope-making and playing the harmonica with the Old Time Fiddlers. He loved people. He loved to laugh and joke. He was patient and kind.

son, Benjamin (Michelle) Meyer of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Janet Meyer of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Maureen (Dan) Jenkins of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Scott (Tanya) Meyer of Eagle River, AK;
sister, Mary (Laron) Bee of Idaho Falls, ID;
14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the Coltman LDS 3rd Ward building, 6925 North 15th East (St. Leon Road), with Joseph Lemmon officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
