Harry Albert Stohl, 92, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 31, 2011, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Community in Idaho Falls. He was under the care of Creekside Home Health and Hospice.
Harry was born September 24, 1919, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Edward Gustav Stohl and Hilma Hanson Stohl. He grew up in Minneapolis, attended Windom Elementary School, and graduated from East Side Vocational High School.
He served his country in the United States Coast Guard as a Seaman, 1st Class during World War II.
On February 14, 1947, he married Maxine Clarice Browne in San Francisco, California. Together they raised one son, Christopher. She passed away in 1969. Harry married Jacqueline “Jackie” Hixon Janssen on August 28, 1969, in San Geronimo, California. Jackie passed away June 14, 1998.
Harry lived in California prior to moving to Idaho Falls nine years ago. For 22 years he worked as a toll collector on the Golden Gate Bridge and retired in 1975. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, latch-hooking, and watching football and golf.

Son: Christopher (Kathy) Stohl of Idaho Falls, ID;
Stepson: Thorne (Linda Kay) Scott of Santa Rosa, CA;
Stepson: Jesse (Cindy) Janssen of Sebastopol, CA;
Stepson: David (Mady) Scott of Austin, TX;
13 Grandchildren; and 14 Great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives, Maxine and Jackie; a brother, Hilmer Stohl; a sister, Lillian Murphy; two nephews, David Stohl and Bruce Stohl; and his stepson, Marty Janssen.
In keeping with Harry’s wishes, no services will be held.
