Harry James Moody

Harry James Moody, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 16, 2023, at Fairwinds-Sand Creek Retirement Community. Harry was born January 8, 1945, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Harry John Moody and Betty Louise Kersley Moody. He grew up and attended schools at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. He also attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming where he earned his master's degree in Physics. On August 30, 1964, he married Linda Sue Reynolds in Ottawa, Kansas. Harry and Sue made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Harry worked as a physics consultant in the standards and calibrations industry. He was a member of NCSL International, NVLAP, and A2LA.  He is a past president of NCSL International and was awarded their William A. Hack Award in 2008.  He was awarded A2LA's John W. Locke award in 2022.  He enjoyed his service to his profession and spending time with family. Harry is survived by his son, Steve John Moody of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Cheryl Moody Bartel of Carlsbad, CA; grandchildren Abby Moody, Maddie Moody, John Bartel, and Owen  Bartel. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
