Harold Laurel Hansen

Harold Laurel Hansen, 93, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 3, 2021, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.

Harold was born January 8, 1928, in Grant, Idaho, to Otto Laurel Hansen and Melva Annie Christensen Hansen. He grew up and attended schools in Jefferson County and graduated from Midway High School near Menan where he met his wife, Alyce. He joined the United States Army at 18 years old, and served during World War II in the Philippines.

On June 23, 1948, he married Alyce Marie Krause in Rigby, Idaho. Harold and Alyce made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Harold worked as a truck driver for Wonder Bread and then as a maintenance worker for Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed camping and traveling.

Harold is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Bloom and Linda (Darwin) Lees, both of Idaho Falls; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alyce Hansen; daughter, Karen (Dave) Taylor; brothers, Dale, Doyle, and Delbert Hansen; and grandson, Steven Taylor.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at the Grant-Central Cemetery, 165 North 3300 East, with Bishop Ryan Harrigfeld of the Ucon Foothill Ward officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the Jefferson County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
