HAROLD L. DUMONT
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Harold Lewis Dumont, 78, of Idaho Falls, died September 19, 2001 at his home. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
He was born May 23, 1923 at Idaho Falls to Lewis Wilford Dumont and Alta Jenkins Dumont. He grew up and attended schools in the area. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
He married Bernice Winther on November 5, 1943 in Idaho Falls. He worked for Bonneville County Road and Bridge as a heavy equipment operator. Later, he was a heavy equipment mechanic for Western States Caterpillar. He also worked as a diesel mechanic for Stoddard-Mead Ford and for the City of Idaho Falls. After retiring from the City, he worked for the Bonneville County Fair Board as Caretaker and Groundkeeper.
He was a member of Eagles and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren -- and the many friends he had.
Surviving are:Daughter: Carol (Robert) Walton, Idaho Falls, IDSon: Ronnie (Teresa) Dumont, Idaho Falls, IDSon: Doug Dumont, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Trudy Horne, Idaho Falls, IDBrother: Eddy Dumont, Idaho Falls, IDBrother: Max Dumont, Idaho Falls, IDSister: Barbara Keele, Washington 7 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, a grandson, his parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2001, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines. The family will meet with friends on Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service, both at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
