Harold Christiansen - 08/01/2002 Harold Christiansen - 08/01/2002 HAROLD CHRISTIANSEN IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Harold Christiansen, 79, of Idaho Falls, died July 31, 2002, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He was born August 9, 1922, at Clarkston, Utah, to Alvin A. Christiansen and Ethel Dahle Christiansen. He grew up and attended schools in Cache Valley. He served in the U. S. Army as a Tech 1st Sergeant during World War II earning a Bronze Star, a Victory Medal, a Philippine Liberation Award and two purple hearts. He married Donna Vivian Sheen on July 1, 1946 at Elko, Nevada. The “love of his life” preceded him in death March 16, 1980, and we hope he kisses her hello for the family. Early in his life he had worked for Seabrand Carnival as a truck driver and also was a horse trainer. He then worked as a Bridge and Building foreman and supervisor for Union Pacific Railroad, retiring after 37 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his grandchildren so that each one felt they were his favorite and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, storytelling and his favorite companion, his Boston Terrier, Ricky. (Becky) Christiansen, SCSister: Merle Larsen, Salt Lake City, UTSister: Mardene (Eldon) Sorenson, UT20 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, LaVar and Max, a son, Terry Lee and a granddaughter, Carissa Eischens. Graveside Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2002, at the Newton Cemetery in Newton, Utah. Burial will be in Newton Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
